'My favourite book from 2011 was Anatomy of a Disappearance by Hisham Matar. Not only was it captivating, it was also beautifully simple with some unexpected twists. Matar’s heartache at the disppearance of his own father is palpable through the pages, and the subject matter couldn’t be more appropriate considering the uprisings in the Middle East.  I couldn’t sleep until I finished it.’ - Poppy, the fantastic work experience
